Mother and daughter, Laural and Lily Reid, started Good Gray – A Commonplace Shop nine years ago, tucked into a small space at the back of an existing shop in the heart of downtown Petaluma. Inspired by the commonplace books of old, their shared love of craft, gardening, literature, and home led to the idea of creating a place where they could collect goods that they found to be inspiring, useful, educational, and dependable, hoping to share their delight in these beautiful products with friends and future friends.

During the past nine years, their dream has been realized. They have created a thriving, loyal following while staying true to the original vision of a place to find not only great products, but great company as well.

In August, 2021, Good Gray happily moved to their own spacious and sunny storefront in a historic building on Main Street in Penngrove, California. Laural and Lily are excited about the possibilities and opportunities in this new chapter and remain committed to maintaining Good Gray as a place that brings art to the practical world.
